	BECOMING A MEMBER There are six categories of memberships within the IAASP:
	Full Any Police Force or Customs Authority or serving officers of such a body (voting member).
	Associate/Group The representative(s), up to a maximum of four, of any organization not being a full member, currently having responsibility for formulating, recommending or executing security, safety of law enforcement policy, for the international transport of persons or property (voting member).
	Retired An individual who is a former member and retired from a law enforcement agency or customs authority.
	Affiliate Membership A restricted member classification, designed for "Rank & File" Officers from any Police Force, Customs Authority, or Security Organization who wish to be involved and connected to the Association. Affiliate members will be entitled to receive timely e-mail bulletins relating to significant worldwide political developments, organized crime and terrorism. Affiliate members are not entitled to Vote, Hold Office, register for conferences at the reduced member rate or have access to the ‘members’ area of the website.
	Life A member, who upon a vote in favor of a resolution at a general meeting is deemed to have served the association with honor and distinction. Honorary An individual who is voted by the membership to have rendered distinguished service to the safety, security or law enforcement of persons or property being transported between nations.
	*Persons who have been convicted either as an organization or an individual of a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment, are not eligible for any membership.*
